1829 – 1894Anton Rubinstein (1829-1894)Died 20 November 1894, aged 64Rubinstein was a Russian pianist and composer who founded the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and was regarded as one of the greatest virtuoso pianists of his era. His pupils included Tchaikovsky. He died at Peterhof, near Saint Petersburg.
1829 – 1907Asaph Hall (1829-1907)Died 22 November 1907, aged 78American astronomer who discovered the two moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos, in 1877 while working at the US Naval Observatory. He made his discovery using the observatory's newly completed 26-inch refracting telescope. He died in Goodwin, Connecticut.
1829 – 1862Elizabeth Siddal (1829-1862)Died 11 February 1862, aged 32Siddal was an English artist and poet who modeled for Pre-Raphaelite painters, most famously as the drowned Ophelia for John Everett Millais, and later married Dante Gabriel Rossetti. She died of a laudanum overdose in London.
1829 – 1909Geronimo (1829-1909)Died 17 February 1909, aged 79Geronimo was a leader and medicine man of the Chiricahua Apache who led resistance against Mexican and American expansion into Apache lands for decades. He surrendered to the United States Army in 1886 and spent the rest of his life as a prisoner of war. He died of pneumonia at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, on 17 February 1909.

His blue jeans became a global clothing staple in the decades after his death.

He toured extensively across the Americas as a virtuoso performer. He collapsed while performing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and died weeks later.
