1896 – 1936Buenaventura Durruti (1896-1936)Died 20 November 1936, aged 40Buenaventura Durruti was a Spanish anarchist leader who commanded the Durruti Column in the Civil War. He was fatally wounded during the defence of Madrid. Hundreds of thousands of people attended his funeral in Barcelona.
1903 – 1936José Antonio Primo de Rivera (1903-1936)Died 20 November 1936, aged 33José Antonio Primo de Rivera founded the Spanish fascist party Falange Española. He was the son of the dictator Miguel Primo de Rivera. He was tried and executed by the Republic in Alicante prison.
