1813Battle of DresdenNapoleon wins his last major battlefield victoryNapoleon personally led French forces to defeat a larger Austrian-Russian-Prussian army attacking Dresden. It proved to be his final significant battlefield victory of the Napoleonic Wars. Allied general Jean Victor Moreau, fighting against his former emperor, was mortally wounded during the battle.
1813Battle of the KatzbachPrussian forces rout the French in SilesiaA Prussian army under Gebhard von Blucher defeated Marshal MacDonald's French forces along the flooded Katzbach river in Silesia. Heavy rain and swollen rivers trapped and drowned many retreating French soldiers. The defeat badly weakened Napoleon's position in the wider 1813 campaign.
