• 1791 Treaty of Sistova signed Austria and the Ottoman Empire end their war Signed on 4 August 1791, the Treaty of Sistova ended the Austro-Turkish War of 1788-1791 with minor territorial adjustments and a return to the prewar status quo. Austria withdrew from the conflict to focus on the growing crisis posed by revolutionary France. The treaty confirmed Ottoman control over most of the contested Balkan territory.
