1549Kett's RebellionNorfolk uprising against land enclosuresTenant farmers and artisans led by Robert Kett rose up in Norfolk, England, to protest the enclosure of common land by local gentry. The rebels camped outside Norwich and briefly held the city before royal forces under the Earl of Warwick crushed the revolt at the Battle of Dussindale on 27 August 1549.
