1415Siege of HarfleurHenry V's first conquest after landing in NormandyHenry V landed in Normandy in August 1415 and besieged the port town of Harfleur, which surrendered after five weeks on 22 September. The siege cost the English army heavily through dysentery and combat losses, delaying and weakening the force that would go on to fight at Agincourt. Harfleur was garrisoned and held by the English for years afterward.
