• 1889 – present Eiffel Tower Exposition Universelle Built for the World's Fair, it became an iconic symbol of Paris and French industrial prowess.
• 1889 – present Nintendo founded -- playing cards in Kyoto Hanafuda cards, seventy years before video games Fusajiro Yamauchi began producing handmade hanafuda playing cards in Kyoto on 23 September 1889. Nintendo sold cards for most of a century before entering the toy business in the 1960s and video games in the 1970s. The company was founded the same year the Eiffel Tower opened to the public.
