2000France win UEFA Euro 2000A golden goal beats Italy in the Rotterdam finalFrance defeated Italy 2-1 in the final of the European Football Championship on 2 July at De Kuip in Rotterdam, with Sylvain Wiltord equalising in stoppage time and David Trezeguet scoring the golden goal in extra time. The tournament, co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, is often rated among the best ever. France now held the World and European titles at once.
