1992Hurricane Andrew strikes FloridaCategory 5 storm devastates south FloridaHurricane Andrew made landfall south of Miami as a Category 5 hurricane, flattening entire neighborhoods and leaving over 250,000 people homeless. It was, at the time, the costliest natural disaster in US history. The storm also caused significant damage in the Bahamas and Louisiana.
