Raised in the surf town of Torquay, Victoria, he built a career on themes of nature, spirituality, and Aboriginal rights, becoming one of Australia's most distinctive touring artists. Since his 2002 debut, he has released over a dozen albums, several performed with his backing band the United Nations, and has used his platform to advocate for environmental protection and Indigenous land rights.
