Renowned for his metronomic goal-kicking, he set a world record for consecutive successful kicks and was a key figure in South Africa's 2007 Rugby World Cup triumph. After retiring as a player he moved into broadcasting and coaching, later serving as a kicking consultant within the Springbok setup.
