1972Idi Amin expels Ugandan AsiansDictator orders 90-day expulsion of tens of thousandsUgandan President Idi Amin announced the expulsion of the country's Asian minority, giving them ninety days to leave. Around 60,000 people, many of Indian and Pakistani descent, lost their businesses and property and fled, most resettling in Britain. The expulsion devastated Uganda's economy.
