1968Boeing 747 rolled outFirst jumbo jet unveiled to the publicBoeing publicly rolled out the first 747 at its new Everett, Washington factory, the largest building by volume in the world at the time. The aircraft would go on to transform long-haul air travel by dramatically increasing passenger capacity. It entered commercial service with Pan Am the following year.
