1968Blood, Sweat & Tears — self-titled albumBlood, Sweat & Tears' self-titled second album, featuring Clayton-Thomas as lead vocalist, is released in December 1968. It enters the Billboard 200 and climbs — slowly at first — to Number 1, where it remains for an extraordinary seven weeks. The album contains three Top 5 singles: 'You've Made Me So Very Happy,' 'Spinning Wheel' and 'And When I Die.' All three reach Number 2. The album wins the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1970 — beating the Beatles' Abbey Road and the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed. It goes on to sell over four million copies in the United States alone.
