1928 – 1962Yves Klein (1928-1962)Died 6 June 1962, aged 34French artist Yves Klein, known for his monochrome paintings using a shade he patented as International Klein Blue, died of a heart attack on June 6, 1962. He was a key figure in the transition from earlier avant-garde movements to Pop Art and conceptual art. His work "Leap into the Void" remains one of the most iconic images in modern art.
