1960JFK and the Kennedys -- political intimacySinatra organises and performs at John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Gala on 19 January 1961 -- a glittering Hollywood production that embodies the New Frontier optimism Kennedy represents. Sinatra and Kennedy are friends and share several of the same women. The relationship ends bitterly when Kennedy, on Robert Kennedy's advice, cancels a planned stay at Sinatra's Palm Springs estate due to Sinatra's mob connections. Sinatra, humiliated, never forgives Robert Kennedy and subsequently transfers his political allegiance to the Republican Party.
