1959Xerox 914 photocopier introducedFirst automated plain-paper copier reaches the marketThe Haloid Xerox Company unveiled the Xerox 914, the first automated machine to make copies on ordinary plain paper. It became one of the best-selling industrial products in history and made "Xerox" a generic verb for photocopying. The machine established Xerox as a major American corporation.
