1950Klaus Fuchs convicted of atomic espionagePhysicist sentenced for passing nuclear secrets to the Soviet UnionGerman-born physicist Klaus Fuchs was convicted in a London court of passing atomic bomb secrets from the Manhattan Project to the Soviet Union. He was sentenced to fourteen years in prison. The case exposed major breaches in Western nuclear security during the early Cold War.
