1947General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade signedTwenty-three nations sign GATT in GenevaGATT was signed in Geneva on 30 October 1947 by 23 countries. The agreement aimed to reduce tariffs and other barriers to international trade. It governed world trade until the World Trade Organization replaced it in 1995.
