1938Munich AgreementBritain and France accept German annexation of the SudetenlandChamberlain, Daladier, Hitler and Mussolini agreed that Germany could annex the German-speaking border regions of Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia was not invited to the talks. On his return Chamberlain declared "peace for our time", and the agreement became the defining example of appeasement.
