1938Teflon discoveredRoy Plunkett accidentally creates PTFEWhile working on refrigerants at DuPont, Roy Plunkett found that a cylinder of tetrafluoroethylene gas had polymerised into a slippery white solid. Polytetrafluoroethylene was later sold as Teflon.
