1935 – 1999King Hussein of Jordan (1935-1999)Died 7 February 1999, aged 63King Hussein bin Talal ruled Jordan for 46 years, one of the longest reigns of any modern monarch. He played a central role in Middle East diplomacy, signing a peace treaty with Israel in 1994. He died of complications from lymphatic cancer at age 63.
