He won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in 1967 and revolutionised the art form by introducing a cinematic horizontal format and a devastating satirical wit. His trademark penguin, Punk, offered sardonic commentary from the margins of his cartoons. He skewered every president from Lyndon B. Johnson to Donald Trump across a career spanning over fifty years.
