1935 Seventh World Congress of the Comintern Communists adopt the Popular Front strategy The Communist International met in Moscow and dropped its policy of attacking social democrats. Georgi Dimitrov set out a new line calling for broad anti-fascist Popular Fronts. The shift shaped left-wing politics in France and Spain.
