1932German federal election -- the last free voteThe Nazi Party loses two million votes but stays largestThe Nazi Party lost roughly two million votes and 34 seats but remained the largest party in the Reichstag, while the Communists gained to hold exactly 100 seats as the second largest. It was the last free election held for the whole of Germany until 1990. Ten weeks later Hitler was chancellor.
