1927Britain breaks relations with the Soviet UnionARCOS raid leads to a diplomatic rupturePolice raided the London offices of the Soviet trading company ARCOS, looking for evidence of espionage. Two weeks later Stanley Baldwin's government broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow. Relations were not restored until 1929.
