1925First television demonstration of a recognizable imageJohn Logie Baird transmits a moving faceScottish inventor John Logie Baird successfully transmitted a recognizable moving image, the face of a ventriloquist's dummy, using his mechanical television system in London. It was the first demonstration of true televised images rather than simple silhouettes. Baird gave a public demonstration to scientists and press early the following year.
