1922Bonar Law Becomes British Prime MinisterLloyd George's coalition collapsesAndrew Bonar Law became Prime Minister on 23 October 1922 after Conservative backbenchers voted at the Carlton Club to end their party's coalition with David Lloyd George, who resigned the same week. Bonar Law led a Conservative government and called a general election the following month. Ill health forced his resignation within a year.
