• 1922 Gandhi Sentenced to Six Years' Imprisonment The Great Trial follows the non-cooperation movement Mohandas Gandhi was convicted of sedition on 18 March 1922 for articles written during his non-cooperation campaign against British rule in India, and was sentenced to six years in prison. He used the trial to indict British rule in India before the court. He was released early in February 1924 following an appendectomy.
