1920Czechoslovakia Adopts Its First ConstitutionNew republic establishes parliamentary democracyThe National Assembly of Czechoslovakia adopted the country's first constitution, establishing a parliamentary democratic republic. The document drew partly on French and American constitutional principles. It governed the state until the Munich Agreement in 1938.
