1837 – 1913J. P. Morgan (1837-1913)Died 31 March 1913, aged 75Morgan built J.P. Morgan & Co. into the dominant American banking house of the era and financed the creation of US Steel, General Electric, and other major corporations. He personally organized a bailout of the US Treasury in 1895 and helped stem the Panic of 1907. He died in Rome while travelling in Europe.
