1912 – 2006Milton Friedman (1912-2006)Died 16 November 2006, aged 94Milton Friedman, the Nobel Prize-winning economist and leading advocate of free-market monetarism, died of heart failure in San Francisco. His ideas shaped economic policy under Reagan, Thatcher and beyond. He remains one of the most influential economists of the 20th century.
