1911The first Solvay ConferenceBrussels, and the physics establishmentThe inaugural Solvay meeting on radiation and quanta gathered Planck, Poincare, Rutherford, Curie and a 32-year-old Einstein, the youngest present. He found the discussions inconclusive but the contacts invaluable. Solvay became the recurring stage for his later duels with Bohr.
