• 1906 Doctorate awarded A new determination of molecular dimensions The University of Zurich accepted Einstein's dissertation on estimating molecular size from solution viscosity in January 1906. It became one of his most cited papers, useful far beyond physics. He stayed at the patent office and was promoted to technical expert second class.
