1902 – 1909The Swiss Patent OfficeTechnical expert, third class, in BernGrossmann's father recommended him, and Einstein started in Bern in June 1902 assessing electromagnetic patent applications. The work was quick for him and left mental room to spare. He later called the office the worldly cloister where his finest ideas were born.
