1899Aspirin trademark registeredBayer registers its new painkillerBayer chemist Felix Hoffmann had synthesized a stable form of acetylsalicylic acid the previous year, and the company registered "Aspirin" as a trademark on 6 March 1899. It went on to become one of the most widely used drugs in the world. Bayer began marketing it as a powder before later producing it in tablet form.
