1875Red River War endsComanche leader Quanah Parker surrenders at Fort SillQuanah Parker led the last band of Quahadi Comanche to surrender to US forces at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, ending the Red River War. The surrender marked the end of organized Comanche resistance on the Southern Plains and the confinement of the tribe to reservation land.
