1770 – 1844Sir Francis Burdett (1770-1844)Died 23 January 1844, aged 73British politician and long-serving radical campaigner for parliamentary reform. He was imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1810 after a breach of parliamentary privilege.
1780 – 1844Charles Nodier (1780-1844)Died 27 January 1844, aged 63French writer and librarian at the Arsenal library, where he held a salon for young writers. He was an important early figure of French Romanticism and wrote fantastic tales.
