1792 – 1834Edward Irving (1792-1834)Died 7 December 1834, aged 42Irving was a Scottish clergyman and preacher whose London congregation's embrace of speaking in tongues and prophecy led to the founding of the Catholic Apostolic Church. He was deposed from the Church of Scotland ministry in 1833 over doctrinal disputes. He died in Glasgow the following year.
