1737 – 1832Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737-1832)Died 14 November 1832, aged 95Carroll was a wealthy Maryland planter and statesman who signed the Declaration of Independence and later served as a U.S. senator. By the time of his death he was the last surviving signer of the Declaration. His death closed the final living link to the founding generation of the United States.
