1763 – 1813Jean Victor Moreau (1763-1813)Died 2 September 1813, aged 50Moreau was a French general who rivaled Napoleon in prestige before falling out of favor and going into exile in the United States. He returned to Europe in 1813 to serve as a military adviser to the Allied coalition against Napoleon. He was mortally wounded by French artillery fire while standing beside Tsar Alexander I at the Battle of Dresden.
