• 1813 Treaty of Gulistan Russia and Persia end their war over the Caucasus The Treaty of Gulistan concluded the Russo-Persian War of 1804-1813, with Qajar Persia ceding most of its Caucasian territories, including Georgia, Dagestan and much of modern Azerbaijan, to the Russian Empire. The treaty reshaped the political map of the Caucasus for the following century. It was signed in the village of Gulistan in Karabakh.
