1813Battle of LutzenNapoleon defeats a Russo-Prussian army in SaxonyNapoleon's newly rebuilt French army defeated the combined Russian and Prussian forces near Lutzen in Saxony. The victory allowed Napoleon to push the Allies back across the Elbe, though heavy casualties and a shortage of cavalry prevented him from exploiting it decisively. It was the first major battle of the War of the Sixth Coalition.
