1810France Annexes the Kingdom of HollandNapoleon dissolves his brother's kingdom and absorbs it into the French EmpireNapoleon issued a decree annexing the Kingdom of Holland, ruled by his brother Louis Bonaparte, directly into the French Empire. Louis had resisted enforcing the Continental System against Britain, prompting Napoleon to abolish the kingdom outright. The Netherlands remained under French rule until 1813.
