1749 – 1791Honore Gabriel Riqueti, Comte de Mirabeau (1749-1791)Died 2 April 1791, aged 42French orator and statesman who became the most influential figure in the early National Assembly during the French Revolution. Despite his aristocratic title, he championed constitutional monarchy and reconciliation between crown and nation. His sudden death removed a moderating voice from the Revolution's leadership months before the flight to Varennes.
