• 1758 Capture of Fort Frontenac British raiders destroy a key French supply depot on Lake Ontario A British and colonial American force under John Bradstreet crossed Lake Ontario and captured the lightly defended French Fort Frontenac between 26 and 28 August 1758. The raid destroyed large stores of supplies and furs intended for France's western outposts, severing a vital supply line. It weakened French control of the Great Lakes region for the rest of the war.
