1704Battle of BlenheimAllied victory halts French advance on ViennaAn Anglo-Austrian-Dutch army under the Duke of Marlborough and Prince Eugene of Savoy defeated a Franco-Bavarian force near the village of Blindheim in Bavaria. The victory ended the threat to Vienna and was one of the most decisive battles of the War of the Spanish Succession. French losses were severe, breaking the sense of French military invincibility in the conflict.
