1667Paradise Lost PublishedJohn Milton's epic poem on the Fall of Man appears in printJohn Milton published Paradise Lost, a blank-verse epic in ten books retelling the biblical story of the temptation of Adam and Eve and the fall of Satan. Milton, who had gone blind, dictated the poem to assistants over several years. It became one of the most influential works in the English language.
