• 1649 Treaty of Zboriv Truce between the Polish Crown and Cossack rebels Signed on 18 August 1649, the Treaty of Zboriv ended a campaign in the Khmelnytsky Uprising, granting the Cossack Hetmanate under Bohdan Khmelnytsky expanded autonomy within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The agreement enlarged the register of Cossacks eligible for state pay and barred Polish troops and Jesuits from Cossack-held territory. The settlement proved fragile and fighting resumed within two years.
